NCUAS 100: Fundamentals of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) including the history and classification of UAS, system components, regulatory requirements, industry and societal impacts, mission planning fundamentals, sensor types, and hands-on simulation operation of small UAS. Additionally, it includes topics to develop data processing skills for data acquired through UAS platforms. The course concludes with topics that prepare students to take the FAA UAS Remote Pilot Certificate with topics including aeronautical decision-making, aircraft performance, weather, navigation, flight planning, and aviation regulations.
